No 3                                                             July 2007

As promised in the April newsletter, here are further details about this year’s reunion.

Date

Saturday 22 September 2007, from 1pm until about 6pm.

Venue

The Windmill-on-the-Common, Windmill Drive, Clapham Common, SW4.

Catering

For those wishing to have a meal during the event, I have once again booked a buffet lunch, at a cost of £15 per head, to be served from 1.30pm.  See next page/overleaf for menu.  The accommodation set aside for our use – the main dining room – is limited to 65 places.  For this reason the Management Committee has agreed that priority should be given to lunch bookings from registered members of the Association; circulation of this newsletter is therefore restricted to those OTs.  (I will be issuing separate invitations to non-members who attended last year’s event.  Subject to the number of lunch applications received in response to this newsletter, it may be possible to extend the same invitation to non-members, on a first-come, first served basis; they are of course welcome to attend the reunion itself.)

Parking

There is a limited number of designated parking spaces in the immediate vicinity of The Windmill; all, however, are free at weekends.

Ties

Allowing for continuing sales to date, a small stock of Association ties may be available for purchase on the day, but orders can in any case be taken in readiness for the next order to be placed with the suppliers.

Memorabilia

The usual request:  do please bring along any relevant photographs, etc.  It’s hoped once again to show on laptops the three films which have been traced:  that taken by Arthur West in c1949 (about four minutes); the first part of Alan Kurtz’s 1958 colour film; and – with his commentary – Ron Bernstein’s 1997 tour of the main building, then being used as an adult education centre.

Jeff Green and I, with the other members of the Committee, look forward to seeing you on the day.
